Martin joined CIL having taken a gap year in his career. He piloted a plane from Yorkshire to South America, lived in and studied the wines of Argentina, climbed Mount Aconcagua and walked 500 miles across Northern Spain on the Camino de Santiago. Prior to this Martin spent nine years with Burlington Consultants, where he was a partner for four years. During his time with Burlington he developed significant consulting experience in the business services and food & drink sectors. Before consulting he worked for Geest and a speciality manufacturer, La Maison des Sorbets. Martin has an MBA from Cranfield University and an MA in Classics from Oxford University.
